James & Vicki Coleman
Pastor Red
James “Red” Coleman was raised in Geneva, Alabama. He attended school K-12 in the Geneva City School system, where he did well academically and played football every year he could. Upon graduation His attended the University of Alabama, where he was invited as a walk-on to try out for football and made the team. He did not, however, finish college there and quit the football team. This began a difficult time in his life, and he struggled with drug addiction for many years. There were some bright moments during this season because he met his future wife, Vicki, after returning home from college. They were married in February 2000. His addiction ultimately led him to faith in Christ in 20005, while attending a faith-based rehabilitation facility in Opp, Alabama, the Crossover Ministry. After completion, he spent twenty years at that program, eventually reaching and retiring as the program’s Executive Director. He and his wife Vicki have four children, Dale, Ashley, Lily, and Elishua. During his time working in drug addiction ministry, he finished his Bachelor’s degree at the Baptist University of Florida in Graceville, Florida. He has served as pastor at The Crossing church of Geneva since 2021.
